Shackell in groin concern
10 Nov 2009 - 16:52:42
Doncaster Rovers defender Jason Shackell is to undergo a scan on his groin after a problem ruled him out of last weekend's defeat at Plymouth Argyle.
The centre-half was ruled out after feeling a lot of discomfort and Rovers' physio John Dickens is hopeful he will be able to return for the Championship clash against QPR next Saturday.
Speaking to The Star, he said: "It all depends on what the scan shows as to how long Jason will be out.
"If it's just inflammation then he could be back for the QPR game on Saturday week, but if he's got a slight tear then obviously he'll be out a bit longer."
Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll is also sweating on the fitness of Gareth Roberts and skipper Martin Woods, who has a suspected broken nose.
There is better news for Adam Lockwood, who has been sidelined with two cracked bones in his foot since September, as he is set to resume running in the next day or so.
