Rovers Simon Gillett hoping to score more goals

Having got off the mark for Doncaster Rovers in Saturday's 2-2 draw at Watford, midfielder Simon Gillett is keen to score more "Obviously I was delighted to score my first goal for Doncaster, " he said "I'd been feeling that I might get a goal in some of the previous games."You get a great buzz when you score and I want to score more goals in the future."Brian (Stock) sits in in front of the back four which allows me to get forward when I can."It is up to me to try and pick the right time when to push forward and fortunately for me on Saturday it was the right time and they opened up for me and John (Oster) did really well to hold the ball up."It's good having him back in the side after missing some of the early games due to injury because he helps the midfield out as well as the attack."He's playing off Billy (Sharp) and makes things happen when he gets on the ball."He probably gives the rest of the midfielders a bit more space because defenders have got to keep half an eye on what John is doing because he causes problems just behind their midfield." The former Southampton star was one of several players to try his luck from outside the box in Tuesday's impressive 3-1 win over last season's League One champions Norwich City at the Keepmoat Stadium. Another of last season's promoted clubs, Leeds United, check in at the Keepmoat tomorrow night and Gillett is looking for a similar result. The West Yorkshire side had been going well in terms of results on their return to the top flight prior to Tuesday's 5-2 defeat at Barnsley. Gillett is not reading too much into that result, however, and is bracing himself for another tough game."They are all tough in this league," he said. "I've not seen much of them this season to be honest but I know they did well last season."I know that they have lost striker Jermaine Beckford, which was a big blow because I think he scored a lot of goals. But they've got a good striker in Beccio and I know that they've got a strong midfield around him with people like Kilkenny, who I think is a good player, and Howson. They've also got a few other good players."There are no easy games, but it would be brilliant were we to pick up back-to-back home wins this week; that's what we are aiming for
