    Rovers secure double deal

    02 Sep 2009 - 11:53:14

Doncaster Rovers made a double deadline day swoop to sign Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp former Hibernian youngster Jack Wilson.

Twenty-three-year-old Sharp has joined on a season-long loan, having struggled to become a first-team regular during his two seasons with the Blades.

Rovers assistant manager Richard O'Kelly told the Sheffield Star: "He is one of those players we've looked at ever since he was at Scunthorpe.

    "He's a natural goal-scorer.

"Everything about the boy fits in with the way we play and how we do things, we are really pleased to have got him for the season."

Meanwhile, 19-year-old midfielder Wilson moves to the Keepmoat Stadium after being released by SPL outfit Hibs.
