Rovers seal Mills loan

Doncaster Rovers have completed the signing of Manchester City defender Matthew Mills on a six-month loan deal.

The 21-year-old has made just two appearances for City during his 18 months with the club and has worked with Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll before at Bournemouth.

Mills told Rovers' official club website: "With the new manager coming in at Manchester City, I thought that I would see how pre-season went.

"It was nice to be in and around the squad, but I spoke to the manager last week and said if I stayed I'd be involved but not starting.

"As a player I wanted first-team football. A few offers came in and I chose Doncaster."

O'Driscoll added: "Matthew has settled in well since joining us on Thursday and is now available for selection after completing a three-match ban at the weekend."
