Doncaster Rovers will be without Richie Wellens for up to four weeks after the midfielder was ruled out with a groin injury.
Wellens, 28, was injured in training and will undergo an operation to remove some scar tissue from a previous hernia problem during his lay-off.
"Richie had an injection into his groin on Tuesday," head physio John Dickens told the club's official website.
"Next Tuesday, Richie will have some scar tissue removed from his left groin.
"The build up of scar tissue is a reaction from his hernia operation that he underwent during the summer. The injection is for a completely separate groin injury which he needs to recover from.
"We are expecting Richie to be out for anything between three to four weeks."
