Rovers John Oster - We have learned lessons

Doncaster Rovers star John Oster has yet to finish on a losing side this season. Oster, who signed a new two-year deal in the summer, missed the opening three league games of the campaign following a close-season knee operation. He made his seasonal debut in the home game against Hull City, playing for just over an hour in the 3-1 victory over the Tigers.Oster's performance belied the fact that it was his first game of any description since late April. He immediately turned back the clock to the second half of last season - during which time he was arguably Rovers best player - with his trickery on the ball and his ability to set up chances for those around him.Well though he played against the Tigers, he was even better in the 3-1 home win over Norwich. That game saw Rovers produce their best football of the season in the first half and Oster was at the heart of much of what they did well."We had a good rotation in midfield and it worked well on the night," he recalled."I think Norwich sat off us in the first half and that allowed us to play. "I was surprised that they did that knowing how we play; it's something that we try never to do."I thought that we were dominant in the first half but they came more into it in the second."It wasn't the first time this season that Rovers have lost their grip on a game in the second half."We've not yet put a game together from start to finish," admits Oster. The most costly.second half fade out was in the 4-0 defeat at Cardiff."Cardiff was a tough game," said Oster. "We played well there for an hour or so and could have been level at 1-1, but then we let some sloppy goals in."I think we've learned our lessons from that game; I hope we have
