    Rovers finalise Hayter deal

    30 May 2007 - 10:19:17

Doncaster Rovers have broken their transfer record after completing the capture of Bournemouth striker James Hayter.

Hayter, 28, has agreed a three-year contract at the Keepmoat Stadium where he will link up with former Cherries boss Sean O'Driscoll.

The deal is reportedly worth £200,000 and brings to an end a two-month chase for O'Driscoll, who targeted his former player towards the end of last season.

"I was impressed with what Sean had to say and the stadium," he told Bournemouth's official website.

"The biggest decision was about uprooting my family to come north."

O'Driscoll added: "We are delighted to get him because it is hard to get clubs to let go of proven strikers.

"He will make us stronger by adding another dimension to the strikers."

Hayter came through the youth ranks at Dean Court and netted 107 times in over 300 appearances for Bournemouth.
