Doncaster Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll has confirmed his interest in signing free agent striker Darren Byfield. The well-travelled 31-year-old is available on a free transfer after being released by Bristol City at the end of the last campaign. The former Millwall, Gillingham, Rotherham and Walsall frontman scored eight times in 33 appearances during his one season at Ashton Gate. "The way it works you get a CV sent on an e-mail or fax and I've got hundreds of them and so has every manager in the Championship and Darren was one of those on a free transfer who has played in the Championship," said O'Driscoll. "So you do what you have to do and speak to the agent and assess the situation. "At this minute in time he's talking to various clubs and is available and that's as far as we've got."
