Doncaster Rovers have been boosted by the news that Gareth Roberts has agreed a new deal with the club.
The 30-year-old former Wales international defender had initially rejected a new contract at the Keepmoat Stadium but has now decided to commit himself to the Championship newcomers for the forthcoming campaign.
Assistant manager Richard O'Kelly told the Sheffield Star: "Gareth's played at Championship level before so he knows what it's all about and he's got several more seasons of experience under his belt since then.
"Gareth had a very good season and got better and better the longer it went on. For someone of his age to make the rapid strides that he made speaks volumes of the lad."
Meanwhile, Rovers have completed the signing of Northern Ireland international Stuart Elliott.
The 29-year-old striker spent the second half of last season on loan with Rovers from Hull City.
