Morecambe midfielder Adriano Rigoglioso is on the verge of joining Doncaster Rovers after the two clubs agreed a fee for the player.
The 24-year-old was transfer-listed by the Shrimps after being sent off for the second time this season in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round defeat by Shrewsbury Town, and Nationwide Conference high-flyers Chester City were believed to be leading the chase for him.
However, after having their bid accepted Rovers are confident of agreeing personal terms with the player and completing the deal in the near future.
Rigoglioso began his career as a trainee at Liverpool but was released without playing a senior game for the club, and built a reputation in non-league football with Marine before joining Morecambe in July 2000.
