Price was close to Rovers

Doncaster Rovers failed with a move for Hull City midfielder Jason Price before the loan transfer deadline last month.

The 28-year-old former Tranmere Rovers star has struggled to make his mark at the KC Stadium and almost decided to try his luck at Belle Vue.

Price said: "Doncaster were very interested and at one stage, I think I was a couple of hours from going there.

"I never wanted to leave and the gaffer decided he didn't want me to go.

"He told me he wanted me to stay and fight for a place and I'm glad I did. I'm really happy here."
