James Hayter is a striker with Doncaster Rovers, having joined from Bournemouth in the summer of 2007. He enjoyed a mixed season in 2010-11, sustaining a hamstring tear early on before returning to form a partnership with Billy Sharp. When Sharp was injured, James took on the role of the main striker and scored in five successive games. Sadly he picked up another injury in February and despite returning he did not show his best form. He finished the season as second-top scorer with 10 goals. Hard-working and committed, James is still remembered for scoring the winning goal in the 2007-08 play-off final at Wembley, while he holds the record for the fastest hat-trick in Football League history when he netted three times in 140 seconds for Bournemouth against Wrexham in February 2004.
