Player Details

David Syers is a box-to-box midfield player who was given his chance as a full-time professional when he signed for Bradford City in August 2010. David, who has previously represented the English Universities team, played for Farsley Celtic and later Harrogate Town in 2009-10. He had a pre-season trial at Valley Parade and was given his first-team debut against Nottingham Forest in the Carling Cup. David, who was on non-contract forms at the time, scored the first goal in the Bantam's 2-1 victory and was immediately given a full contract. He played regularly in the team and finished the season as the Bantams' leading scorer with his performances earning him the club's Players' Player of the Year award. David also plays cricket to a high standard having appeared in the Bradford League for Farsley during 2010.
