Doncaster Rovers boss Dave Penney is considering making a second bid for Morecambe midfielder Adriano Rigoglioso after his initial £25,000 offer was rejected.
The former Liverpool trainee was one of the stars of the Shrimps' second place finish in the Conference last season and Penney was given a full exhibition of his ability when Rovers lost 3-0 at Christie Park.
"Although we have had no official answer back we have read that their board has rejected it by announcing it at a fans forum," Penney told the club's website.
"So we shall see where we go with that one as to whether we put in a higher bid or not."
Rovers have already strengthened their squad with one of the last season's brightest Conference stars by signing Michael McIndoe from Yeovil Town.
