O'Driscoll closes in on Gillett

Southampton midfielder Simon Gillett is on the verge of agreeing a permanent transfer to Doncaster Rovers.
The 24-year-old has impressed boss Sean O'Driscoll during his two-month loan stay at the Keepmoat Stadium, starting seven matches for the Championship side.
"We're in the process of offering Simon a contract," said O'Driscoll.
"I believe that the loan has been extended because it currently ends on December 12, so we've extended that into January and, once the window opens, we'd very much like to take him on a permanent contract."
