More misery for Rovers as Doncaster cruise
Indian-owned Blackburn continued their miserable start to the Championship campaign with a lacklustre 2-0 defeat at promoted Doncaster on Friday.
Rovers, owned by poultry firm Venky's, have endured a dismal time since their relegation from the Premier League in 2012 and only narrowly avoided falling into the third tier last term.
The Lancashire club, who won the Premier League in 1995, may face another battle to beat the drop on the evidence of their first three games of the new season.
After drawing with Derby, losing at home to Nottingham Forest and suffering a shock League Cup exit against Carlisle, Gary Bowyer's side desperately needed a victory at the Keepmoat Stadium.
But goals from Theo Robinson and James Husband gave Paul Dickov his first Championship win in charge of Doncaster and left Bowyer already under pressure given Venky's fired three managers last season
Robinson, who joined from Derby earlier this week, immediately started paying back is £100,000 transfer fee with a first-half header and Husband made sure of the points with an attempted cross that went sailing into the far corner after the break.
