Mills set for Rovers move

Doncaster Rovers have revealed they are close to completing the signing of Manchester City defender Matthew Mills on a six-month loan deal.

Mills, 20, played under current Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll when he was in charge at Bournemouth during the 2004/05 campaign.

The Swindon-born defender is expected to sign in time to make his debut against Hartlepool United on Saturday.

"He was outstanding at times when he played for us (Bournemouth) at such a young age," O'Driscoll told the club's official website.

"He is quick and strong in the air. In fact, he's got everything. It's just a case of putting it all together at the same time."
