Doncaster Rovers full-back Sean McDaid will play no further part in the season after suffering a dislocated knee-cap in a friendly against a Combined Services side.

The 22-year-old had to be stretchered off the pitch in the early stages of the match with a specialist confirming the severity of the injury on Thursday.

Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll will also be without Steve Roberts for this weekend's game against Luton Town.

The former Bournemouth boss told Rovers' official website: "Steve injured his knee and came off against Orient and Sean McDaid unfortunately dislocated his knee in a friendly on Tuesday."
