Letheren fills Rovers gap

Doncaster Rovers have signed goalkeeper Kyle Letheren on a month's loan from Championship neighbours Barnsley.

Rovers were forced into the transfer market after Ben Smith injured an ankle in training late last week, leaving Neil Sullivan as the only senior keeper at the club.

Boss Sean O'Driscoll told the club's official website: "Ben went over on his ankle in training on Friday and it was a precaution to put him in a brace and stick him on crutches to see how the ankle reacted.

"We need to access it and the prognosis is that he will be out for a couple of weeks rather than a couple of days."

Letheren has made just one appearance for the Tykes to date, coming on as a substitute in the FA Cup third round win over Blackpool just over a year ago.
