Doncaster Rovers defender Gordon Greer will be sidelined for up to three months after having a hip operation.
The 27-year-old former Kilmarnock player has been out of action since last month's goalless draw with Brighton.
Doncaster's head physio, John Dickens, told the club's official website: "Gordon Greer had a hip operation on Sunday and is recovering very well.
"He's started his rehabilitation programme and will see a specialist in two weeks' time and we'll take the next step from there.
"At the moment we're looking at between 10-12 weeks in terms of when Gordon will be fit again. However, at the moment, looking at the progress that Gordon is making it may be a bit earlier."
