Keepmoat switch suits Shiels

Dean Shiels is looking forward to starting a new chapter in his career after completing his transfer from Hibernian to Doncaster Rovers.

The 24-year-old midfielder has agreed a three-and-a-half year deal which keeps him at the Keepmoat Stadium until the summer of 2012.

"I'm delighted with the move," Shiels told Rovers' official website. "I've had four-and-a-half great years with Hibernian and this was an exciting challenge. I can't wait to get started.

"The style of football was one of the things that attracted me to Doncaster and the chance to work with Sean O'Driscoll was another one. I know that the club is ambitious and that matches my ambition. I think it was a perfect choice for me.

"The sooner I can get going, the better for me, so I can get the chance to know the lads and get settled in the area. Unfortunately, I can't play in the FA Cup at this stage, so I will be ready for Blackpool hopefully."
