Doncaster Rovers striker Paul Heffernan has been told the ankle injury he sustained in the weekend clash against Port Vale was not as serious as was initially feared.
It was thought when Heffernan limped out of the game that he had suffered a fracture.
However, it is now believed the forward suffered nothing more than swelling, although an MRI scan on Wednesday will confirm the severity of the problem.
He is expected to miss the FA Cup first round replay against Oldham Athletic on Tuesday.
