Heffernan blow for Rovers

Doncaster Rovers striker Paul Heffernan will be out until the new year with an ankle injury.

The 25-year-old Irishman has netted just three goals this season, having struggled with a groin strain and a broken hand before his latest problem.

Heffernan suffered suspected ankle ligament damage in the 3-1 win at Port Vale in late November and now faces at least a further month on the sidelines.

Meanwhile, Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll has announced himself content with a point from the 1-1 draw at Oldham Athletic, a result sealed by James Hayter's last-minute penalty.

He commented: "We were disappointed for the first goal because we thought it was handball and Oldham were disappointed for the second because they thought it was outside the box.

"On chances, both sides could have scored more and both could also feel aggrieved, so I suppose it was honours even."
