Doncaster Rovers have extended the loan stay of young Arsenal forward Jay Emmanuel-Thomas until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old has scored three times in seven appearances to date for Rovers and has impressed boss Sean O'Driscoll with his displays.

He told the Sheffield Star: "I think Arsenal were always under the impression that we were going to take him anyway.

"But from our point of view it was just a case of let's get him settled before we plough on.

"But Jay is quite happy to stay and the people who represent him were also quite happy for him to stay here as well.

"Arsenal have been as good as gold about it and I never thought that there would be a problem, but you never know in football."
