Calm O'Driscoll plans ahead

Doncaster Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll has admitted his thoughts have already turned to next season after sealing promotion to the Championship via the play-off final.

The South Yorkshire club edged out favourites Leeds United 1-0 at Wembley courtesy of a James Hayter header, but afterwards a stoic O'Driscoll admitted he was already planning for their next campaign.

"As soon as the game ends you're thinking I've got to try and improve the squad within the budget," he said.

"We'll reflect on what we did well and what we can improve on because we go into a difficult division next season."

Meanwhile after leading Rovers to the second tier of English football for the first time in 50 years, O'Driscoll is set to be rewarded with a new contract by chairman John Ryan.

"He is on a rolling contract and he will get an increase next season for getting us promoted," he revealed.
