Brooker suffers more despair

Doncaster Rovers striker Steve Brooker has suffered a setback in his recovery from serious injury.

The former Bristol City forward, who had a major ankle operation earlier this year, experienced pain in his Achilles tendon during pre-season training last week.

Brooker said: "I've been working hard all summer to try to get myself right because I want to get back playing again as quickly as possible.

"My ankle was feeling really good at the start of last month and I was able to start doing some running.

"But ever since I started I've been having problems with my Achiles and I've had to rest up at times. I'm just waiting to get it right so that I can start to push on again."
