Injury-hit striker Steve Brooker is back training with Doncaster Rovers and hopes to be able to seal his transfer to the Keepmoat Stadium.
The 27-year-old, who is out of contract with Bristol City next summer, initially joined Rovers in late November, but his spell was wrecked by a calf injury suffered netting on his debut against Watford.
However, Robins boss Gary Johnson told the Evening Post: "Steve Brooker is our player again, but he has gone back to Doncaster to train and recover from his injury.
"If he can do that and prove his fitness, there is every chance he will stay on with Doncaster, providing they still want him.
"Brooks wants the move and they have the option of taking him on loan and signing him permanently."
