Van Nieuwstadt leaves Rovers
The Dutchman was contracted to the club until the end of the season, however he is now free to find a new club.
Van Nieuwstadt, 29, joined Rovers in 2008 from Excelsior Rotterdam but has struggled to hold down a regular spot in the first team and has been absent from the start of this season due to a hernia operation.
He made 17 appearances for the club in the 2008-09 season and scored one goal, away to Reading in a 2-1 defeat.
