Stock to play through pain barrier

The influential midfielder has been suffering from a back problem that flared up again in the clash with Cardiff earlier in the month. Stock recieved an injection prior to Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Birmingham in an attempt to cure the problem but was substituted at half-time after suffering a recurrence of the injury. Boss Sean O'Driscoll told the club's official website: "We just have to take a measured look. We learnt from Cardiff and decided we are going to nurse him through the season." When asked if Stock would be sent for an operation early, O'Driscoll added: "I think when we get over the finishing line and it's all done and dusted and we look like we are more than certain of staying in the Championship then that would be a decision we make and yes we will probably get it done. "But he is a big player for us and we will have to manage it as we have managed it all season."
