Spicer: Rovers are reaping rewards

Sean O'Driscoll's men have earned themselves a reputation for passing football yet seemed to be likely relegation candidates after a poor start to their first season in the Championship. But they have turned their fortunes around since Christmas and secured their survival with a 3-0 win at Plymouth on Saturday, with Spicer amongst the scorers for the first time this season. "The manager always wants us to play the right way, which I think we have done," the 25-year-old admitted. "Earlier on when the results were not going our way everyone just kept together, believing the tide would turn for us - and thankfully it has." Spicer also reserved praise for striker Paul Heffernan who laid on his goal, adding: "It was a great ball in by Paul, I didn't have to move, he put it on the plate for me and all I had to do was hit the target."
