Shiels grateful for O'Driscoll's faith

Shiels injured his ankle while on international duty with Northern Ireland in midweek and was only able to return to training with O'Driscoll's squad on Friday.[LNB]Shiels, who struck the match-clinching second goal in Saturday's 2-0 win over QPR, said: "I had to work hard to get fit for the game.[LNB]"I got injured last Thursday when I was with the national team, so it was unfortunate to miss out on that and I was disappointed.[LNB]"I didn't actually train until Friday and that was the first time that I'd trained with the squad.[LNB]"I have to thank the gaffer for showing the faith to put me in, even though I hadn't been training."[LNB][LNB]
