Ryan targets top 10

Doncaster chairman John Ryan hopes the club can break into the top 10 of the npower Championship next season. Manager Sean O'Driscoll led the team to an impressive top-half finish in the last campaign, thanks, in part, to Sheffield United loanee Billy Sharp, who scored 15 goals during his stay at the Keepmoat Stadium. Sharp has now been signed on a permanent deal and Ryan believes he could be the talisman to help Rovers improve on last season's efforts. "Obviously I'm delighted with the capture of Billy Sharp. We have also signed two or three other good players," Ryan told the Sheffield Star. "I'm very positive about the season; I feel that the Championship is as open as it has ever been. I don't think the teams coming down from the Premiership are as powerful as in previous seasons. "We've finished 14th and 12th in the last two seasons, and if we could make it into the top 10 then that would be a fantastic achievement, and obviously the top six would be even better."
