Ryan rejects Donny transfer claims

Ryan, who is approaching his 12th year as chairman of Rovers, believes the South Yorkshire club have "achieved miracles" during his tenure. "We do invest a lot in the team but I think fans sometimes look at transfer fees - they don't realise our wage bill now is £6million," he told the club's official website. "To put that into context, when we won the Division Three title, our wage bill was £840,000." He added: "We have thrown a lot of money at it relatively but we don't get the same money through the gate - if we average 10,000 but another club averages 20,000 you don't have to be an accountant to realise what the difference is. "We try and run things in the correct way."
