Rovers wait on Thomas

Doncaster defender Wayne Thomas faces an anxious wait to learn the full extent of his knee injury. The 31-year-old, a free summer signing following his release from Southampton, could be sidelined long-term if the club's worst fears are realised after he injured his knee during training on Friday. Thomas missed Saturday's 3-1 home win over Hull, and manager Sean O'Driscoll said: "At the time it looked quite serious, but it has settled down a bit now. "John (Dickens, head physio) is taking him to a specialist in London on Tuesday. He's had some work done on his knee, so the surgeon who's done the work on his knee is the best person to diagnose it. "It could be quite serious, but he's an experienced boy and he's come in and said that it feels a lot better. We just have our fingers crossed that he will be okay."
