Rovers stopper eyes loan switch

The reserve shot-stopper experienced Championship football for the first time at the weekend when he replaced the injured Neil Sullivan with Rovers already 3-0 down against Nottingham Forest.[LNB]But with Sullivan the indisputable first choice, Smith - who has had loan spells at Lincoln and Morecambe - is keen to be farmed out again should it continue to be the case.[LNB]He said: "I really enjoyed my time at Morecambe. I only played three games because the last week I was there it was the FA Cup and Rovers wouldn't let me play because they didn't want me cup-tied.[LNB]"At the end of the day it is all about playing and you learn more from playing in a game and being under pressure. I think that I came back to the club a better player for the experience and I also felt a lot sharper.[LNB]"I'd like to go out on loan again somewhere early in the New Year if the situation remains the same at the club. I'm not really bothered where I go except I still want to be playing in the Football League."[LNB][LNB]
