Dean Furman was set to join training this morning with a deal for the South Africa skipper close to being agreed.
And Rovers are in pole position to snap up another former Oldham player, Jean Yves Mvoto.
Dickov confirmed last week he had spoken to the agents of both Furman and Mvoto and was confident deals would be agreed once their contracts at Boundary Park expired over the weekend.
Reports in the south strongly suggest Rovers will complete the signing of sought-after Brentford attacking midfielder Harry Forrester.
Bees boss Uwe Rosler told the Hounslow Chronicle he had given permission to the 22-year-old to train with Rovers and was resigned to losing him.
Rosler said: “He is still effectively our player until Sunday, but I have given him permission to train with Doncaster.”
Rovers will be required to pay compensation to Brentford should they complete the signing with Forrester aged under 24 and offered a new deal at Griffin Park.
Forrester is a versatile midfielder with the ability to play across the middle or off a striker, as he did when Brentford visited Rovers last October. He joined Brentford from Aston Villa in 2011.
Rovers have reportedly seen off competition from Ipswich Town and Leeds United for Forrester, who scored 11 goals last season
