Rovers Paul Heffernan unhappy with booking at Blackpool

Doncaster welcomed Paul Heffernan back into their starting line-up on Monday after the striker returned early from his loan spell with Bristol Rovers. The Irishman netted four goals in 12 appearances at the Memorial Stadium and looked lively on his Championship return. However, the 28-year-old had a disappointing start to the match after he was booked for simulation in what looked a clear-cut penalty for Rovers. He told the club's official website: "I think it was a penalty. The lad had left his back leg there and I have gone over it. The referee either gives a penalty or he doesn't; I don't know how he has booked me for diving, but it was definitely and pen and it definitely wasn't a dive. "It upsets me, because I'm not that type of player and I said to the referee at the time; if I'm in on goal, I'm not going to go down intentionally. "It's frustrating - just because he doesn't give the penalty, it doesn't mean he has to book me for diving. I was very frustrated."
