Rovers on loan Healy delighted to be playing again

Forgotten man David Healy admits he is delighted to swap his Premier League exile at Sunderland for a spell at "the Arsenal of the north" in Doncaster Rovers The Northern Ireland record goalscorer, off of the first-team scene on Wearside since January, has signed a loan deal with Rovers up to and including the Yorkshire derby with Barnsley on December 4 and the striker couldn't be happier. The former Leeds and Preston ace has done it tough at the Stadium of Light after falling well down the pecking order under Steve Bruce and he is anxious to get back doing what he does best - scoring goals after gratefully grasping Rovers' lifeline.Healy's arrival is a major coup for Rovers and his presence should more than fill the gaping striking hole left by the injury enforced absence of top-scorer Billy Sharp. On how the move came about, Healy said: "My agent mentioned it a couple of weeks ago. "Billy's injury probably hurried it along a bit - unfortunately for him and I hope he is back soon - but I'm here now, initially for a month. "Hopefully, I can do well, play a few games and do well for this football club."It's a long time since I felt part of anything at Sunderland, which is disappointing. But that's football and that's life. "I think there are a lot of games in the time I'm here, so I hope to gain some fitness and a little bit of sharpness and score goals."I'm a striker and every striker wants to score goals - I'm no different. After this month, we'll see what happens."Strikers can play brilliantly outside the box for 89 minutes or play poorly for 89 minutes and then pop up in the box and score the goal. People don't remember the 89 minutes, they remember the goal."On joining a club renowned across the land for its pure footballing instincts, he added: "I know that Doncaster are the so-called 'Arsenal of the north'. "People keep mentioning the club in the same talk as Arsenal, so the club must be doing something right."The club has come a long way in such a short space of time. They've got a brand new stadium, a fantastic pitch and I know quite a few of the lads, which helps."Neil Sullivan, Johnny Oster, Woodsy and Mark Wilson; they are all lads I have played with before, so that helps to settle in the dressing room wherever you go."It's somewhere where I can be happy and I love to play for teams that like to play football. "I have seen Doncaster twice on TV; against Leeds where Doncaster probably should have won and they beat Sheffield United comfortably
