Rovers midfielder Martin Woods still hopes the team will produce some fireworks in tomorrow's Championship clash against Millwall at the Keepmoat Stadium Woods hasn't trained with his team-mates this week, and could be set for miising a few games to mend his groin injuryWoods, who recently signed a new three-year contract, is no stranger to playing with injuryHe played on with an early-season groin injury for most of the 2009-10 campaign before having surgery to resolve the problem. He was fit to join in pre-season games and made an impressive start to the club's third season in the second tier of English football. But the former Scottish Under-21 international started to suffer a few problems in and around the groin - initially keeping them to himself."I'd played every minute of every league game and I thought that it was probably just a build-up," he said. "It was stiffening up after games and obviously playing Saturday-Tuesday games didn't help."I didn't really know what was going on until I saw the specialist but I now know what the problem is."The specialist said that the operation had been successful and that I just needed to strengthen the area around the groin."Since seeing the specialist a couple of weeks ago I've spent most of the week working in the gym. "There's not been a problem with fitness in games because I'd built up a good level of fitness. You also work hard in the gym because you've got a specific programme to follow."And, as I say, I'm used to playing with a bit of discomfort, so it's not a problem."I don't like missing games or missing training. That's why it's a bit frustrating missing training but I've got to get my groin right and that means doing my rehabilitation programme."Hopefully not too far down the line it will be fine again."Looking ahead to the visit of the Lions, Woods said: "It's a game that we'll be looking to win and it is a game that we probably should be winning if we get the basics right."But to be fair, they've made a good start to the season and they've probably surprised a lot of people."They've come into this league on a high note after winning promotion and it's just a case of whether they can maintain their form for the rest of the season, which is a difficult thing to do for every team at this level
