Rovers hoping to Re-sign Wellens

Doncaster Rovers boss Paul Dickov says he is hoping to sort out a deal to bring Richie Wellens to the Keepmoat. The former Rovers midfielder has been training with Rovers this week following his release from Leicester City. The 33-year-old will feature for Rovers in their final pre-season friendly at Bradford City this afternoon and Dickov says he is hoping to sort a deal out with the midfielder next week ahead of the new championship season. Dickov said, "Richie has been in training with us all week. "He`s got his contract sorted out at Leicester now and he`s going to play some part in the game tomorrow. "And next week hopefully we`ll be able to sit down with him and sort something sorted." Wellens left Rovers in 2009 for Leicester after spending two seasons at the Keepmoat, making 97 appearances for the club He spent the last four seasons at Leicester City and he was a regular in the side until a cruciate knee ligament injury saw him miss the start of last season. After returning to full fitness, he struggled to regain his place in the side and he had a short spell on loan at Ipswich Town
