Doncaster Rovers have signed experienced central defender Wayne Thomas on an initial one-year deal The centre-back impressed Rovers manager Sean O'Driscoll in pre-season games against West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield Wednesday, leading to the club making an offer of a contract in the days following the final pre-season workout.Rovers had hoped the deal would be completed prior to Saturday's opener at Preston North End, but the two parties couldn't agree on the length of the contact.But the 31 year-old, released by Southampton at the end of last season, put pen to paper on a one-year contract this morning after passing a medical yesterday afternoon
