Rovers Billy Sharp to have hamstring scan

Billy Sharp's hamstring injury took some of the gloss off Doncaster Rovers' 2-0 derby win over Championship rivals Sheffield United at the Keepmoat Stadium on Saturday night The club's record signing limped off just before the interval after helping to set up Rovers' first goal scored by James Coppinger and then claiming his sixth goal of the season.Sharp, who doesn't have a history of hamstring problems, was scheduled to have a scan today in a bid to determine the severity of the injury. If Sharp has suffered even a moderate tear he could be facing around six weeks on the sidelines. "We won't know how long Billy is going to be out for until we get the results of the scan," said Rovers No 2 Richard O'Kelly."But it will obviously be a big blow if he is going to be out a few weeks. He did all right earlier in the season but in the last three games I think he has stepped it up a level."And with everything he does he's dragged other people along with him, which is what he did when he came here last season on loan."His workrate off the ball; his understanding of what he is doing, and his enthusiasm all helps other people play so well."With Spurs loanee Ryan Mason expected to spend another week working on his rehabilitation at White Hart Lane before returning to the club, Waide Fairhurst on loan at Southend, and Steve Brooker yet to start a league match for the club, O'Kelly said the club would probably look at bringing someone in on loan where it to prove bad news on Sharp."We've got a list and it is just a case of picking the right one and hoping that he is available,"
