Pirates eye Heffernan deal

Bristol Rovers manager Paul Trollope has revealed the Pirates will renew their interest in Doncaster striker Paul Heffernan in the summer. The Irishman saw his loan spell with the League One club cut short at the weekend due to an injury crisis at the Keepmoat Stadium. But with Heffernan out of contract in the summer, Trollope is keen to tie up a permanent deal for the forward. "He scored four goals in 11 games for us, which is a good return, and I think he fitted in really well with the group and showed his quality and a work ethic which rubbed off on some of the other players," Trollope told the Evening Post. "We have had some early conversations about the possibilities for next season. He is out of contract and not sure what the situation will be at Doncaster, although I don't think he's that confident about getting a new one. "He enjoyed his time here and I think he liked the way we did things."
