O'Kelly welcomes Iron decision

Doncaster's assistant manager Richard O'Kelly has backed Scunthorpe's decision to appoint Ian Baraclough from within to replace Nigel Adkins. Adkins departed the Iron for Southampton in September and assistant Baraclough was promoted after a brief stint as caretaker. O'Kelly, speaking ahead of the two side's clash at Glanford Park, believes it was the right decision by the Scunthorpe board. O'Kelly said: "He's a good coach and it helps with continuity when you promote from within the ranks. "All the players will know Barra and new number two Kevin Pressman. Lee Turnbull is still there so they've got a wealth of experience and knowledge of the restraints that clubs like Scunthorpe work under. "Someone new coming in possibly wouldn't quite understand what they have got to do to be successful. As I say, they've made a good choice."
