O'Driscoll will be a stay-at-home Rover - Ryan

Chairman John Ryan has reiterated his belief that Sean O'Driscoll will remain at Doncaster despite ongoing talks with managerless Sheffield United. O'Driscoll has enjoyed a fruitful four years at the helm at the Keepmoat Stadium, earning praise for the stylish, passing football played by his team while also leading Rovers into the npower Championship in 2008. His success prompted the Blades, who recently saw manager Gary Speed leave to take the Wales job, to request permission to speak to the 53-year-old, with the two parties beginning talks on Monday. But, despite the interest, Ryan is confident O'Driscoll will choose to remain at Doncaster. "He has had some talks with Sheffield United, but I'm confident he will stay with us," Ryan told Sky Sports News. "He has the opportunity to do well with us and we are only a few points off the play-offs. "We gave him his break and I know Sean respects us for that. We have good players and a good chance to push for promotion in the second half of the season. We backed him as a board, bought him Billy Sharp and allowed him to bring in loan players. I hope he looks at pros and cons and comes down on our side."
