O'Driscoll pleased with long-awaited result

Doncaster manager Sean O'Driscoll admitted he was pleased to secure a 1-1 draw with in-form Norwich at Carrow Road. Grant Holt opened the scoring for the Canaries, who looked like they were heading for another victory until Adam Drury sent the ball into his own goal to earn Doncaster a point. O'Driscoll said: "It is about time we got a result to be honest. We looked a bit more balanced than we have done in the past four or five games, had a bit of a threat up front and I felt we deserved something from the game. "We have got a lot of players out at the moment but we have not been using that as an excuse. We've lost our last two games because we were beaten by the better side on the day but that was a lot better. "It's a fact that we've got a whole team and more on the treatment table at the moment but there is no way this game was ever going to be called off. It made a nice little story for the media but it was never going to happen. "If we'd gone down that road it really would have opened up the floodgates for every team with injury problems. If you can't compete with injuries in this league then you shouldn't be playing in it, it's as simple as that."
