Sean O'Driscoll was delighted with a clean sheet and the fact his side carried an attacking threat in the goalless draw at Nottingham Forest without leading goalscorer Billy Sharp.
Sharp has been ruled out for at least a month after undergoing surgery to resolve a hernia problem, but Doncaster created problems for promotion-chasing Forest at the City Ground.
O'Driscoll said: "We came with a game plan and stuck to it, but we were always a threat with the ball.
"We probably passed it better in this game than we have done in the past few games, so I'm pleased with that. The three subs that came on all contributed as well. Sometimes when you set up your 11 and make changes, it disrupts people."
O'Driscoll added: "I'm pleased and would have taken a point before the game. I'd have taken a clean sheet definitely."
