O`Driscoll considers options after Sharp KO

Doncaster manager Sean O'Driscoll is considering a foray into the loan market for a new striker following news of Billy Sharp's pending surgery. Sharp has finally succumbed to the hernia problem that recently kept him out for three matches and could miss the rest of the season as an operation is likely to keep him out for a month. O'Driscoll said: "The likelihood is that Billy will be in for surgery, hopefully before the end of the week. The sooner we can get it done, the sooner we can get him back. I can't imagine that he would be fit for the next month or so. "It was always going to come and it could have been worse in the sense that it could have been a month ago when we had so many games. "It leaves us a little bit short on the ground striker-wise. It may be that we have to bring somebody in, but that would mean I would have seven loan players and I can only put five on the team-sheet, so that gives us an added problem. "It's been a season of problems that we have to try to surmount. There's nothing we can do about it, so we soldier on."
