McDaid nearing first-team return

The 23-year-old, sidelined since April 2008 after dislocating his knee and enduring further complications last season that required surgery, played the full game in a 1-0 defeat to Chesterfield.[LNB]Rovers assistant manager Richard O'Kelly said: "The highlight for us was that Sean McDaid got 90 minutes under his belt as part of his comeback from his knee injury.[LNB]"The game was a good test and although Chesterfield scored the only goal it was more about match fitness and practice.[LNB]"They are always useful games and Chesterfield provided strong competitive action for players who have not had as much match practice recently."[LNB]Former Leeds trainee McDaid played his last match for Rovers in a 1-1 League One draw at Orient towards the end of the 2007/8 season.[LNB][LNB]
