"Kevin doesn't normally do football dinners but he's been a friend for a long time,"said Mickey Walker "There aren't that many special people around these days, but he's one of them. He's a real nice guy and a good friend." Another of Walker's special guest will be former world boxing champion, Clinton Woods. Chairman John Ryan and former Rovers' boss Dave Penney will also be attending the function being held in the East Stand restaurant. "As well as a two-course meal there will be entertainment from 2Grand and comedian John Stiles, who will also be the compare on the night. "We've also got some great items for a sporting auction including a Manchester United shirt signed by all the players and Sir Alex Ferguson. "There will also be a signed Doncaster Rovers League One Promotion Play-off final shirt." "We looked to be in with an outside chance of making the play-offs going into Easter, but it wasn't to be. "But whatever happens in our remaining games it has been another great season for the club. "I think that we've built a great foundation for a successful future since we've got back into the Football League. "Doncaster Rovers have got a very good reputation as a well-run club who play good football and that makes me very proud. "The club has improved every year since we've got back into the league and hopefully that will continue this season." Reflecting on his Testimonial Year which ends next month, Walker said: "It was very good of the club to grant me one after ten years' service.
